​Project II

This project comes from the exploration of shadows and how it cuts and reforms the structure of clothing pieces. The original thought was to use the changing shadow to separate the images into different sections, in the shades you can see the strong lines and shapes of the piece, and the highlighted area emphasised the texture and colour of the piece. However, I rethink the relationship of the piece and decided to dig deeper. I took the inspiration of the designer into consideration. Through my research I found out that the designer's inspiration came from snails. I think a wall decorated with snails will be the perfect background for the shoot.

The next challenge for me is to think about how to project the image. I did thorough research on snails and fashion, but what I found is too materialistic and realistic, I am looking for something conceptual, abstract and at the same time could go with the piece perfectly. An image of the anatomy of ancient creatures drew my attention. I looked into the anatomy of snail shells, the texture and structure inside a snail is exactly what this piece is about. So I matched different shell texture with different pieces and finish the visual design.
