Sometimes I wonder if deconstruction can be considered art, as it is not a complete whole and can be confusing. The term "fragment" refers to a part broken off from a whole, and is often associated with words such as dissociated, discontinuous, disconnected, disjoined, disjunctive, and interrupted. The nature of a fragment is characterized by confusion, lack of coherence, and separation from the center. Similarly, our life story is composed of every piece that makes up our fragmented experiences. In my work, I use the fragment as a form of presentation to create three distinct pieces.
For this project, I selected three female models who are not professional models but individuals from different walks of life. They represent a student, a professional worker, and a mother, with the purpose of comparing their unique characteristics and personalities.
The first one is a student figure. The student's image is intended to convey a young, lively, and enthusiastic outlook toward life. The model's positive, energetic, and easy-going personality is reflected in her gentle eyes and expressions, which exude a strong sense of affinity. I chose a bright and soft color palette to complement her overall image.
The second one is a professional worker, an art worker, is represented with a chic and fabulous style, exuding a sense of retro fashion with attention to detail, such as upturned eyeliner and elegant accessories. I used a yellow and black-and-white color palette to reflect her unique personality.
Finally, the mother's image is intended to convey strength and power. As a mother of two sons, she brought one of her sons to the shoot, and her focus and powerful expression in front of the camera is evident. However, her love and tenderness towards her son are also conveyed through her soft gaze off-camera. Her favorite color, red, which symbolizes passionate power, was used in the color palette. But to better portray her strength as a mother, I also edited one of her eye pictures with a solid yellow tone.
In conclusion, each of these three pieces of work has a completely different style, but they all share a consistent overall style. By observing the details of each small piece, one can better appreciate the entirety of the work. Similarly, every individual's life is composed of different experiences, and each person's unique personality can be expressed through different shades of color.
